Trenton Green Smith was born in Denver Colorado with an unruly mob of blonde curly hair and spent his childhood playing backyard wiffle ball games.
Two years earlier, Grace Taylor Freeman was born in Utah. The youngest of the family- they saved the best for last. She spent her days watching Toy Story 2 on repeat until the tape wore thin.

Grace’s brother moved to Colorado and, as fate would have it, landed across the street from Trenton’s family. On church assignments, Trenton would visit him— even when Grace was staying there.
Terrified of social interaction, Grace would hide in the basement whenever he came over.
Their paths didn’t cross for years.
Finally, one night (okay, 2 AM) during Christmas break, Trenton stopped by and Grace’s brother convinced him to DM his sister. At 2 in the morning. To ask her out.
Feeling obligated (and afraid of her brother), Grace replied that morning.

The messages never really stopped since.

Their first date was hot chocolate at Sundance. Grace wrote in her journal that night: “His name is Trenton. He’s going to live in New York. He cried in the Wicked movie. And he sang For Good at his grandma’s funeral… he’s probably the love of my life.”
There were library visits—Trenton seemed to live there. Building furniture. Paddle boarding. A million froyo runs.
Their first kiss finally happened a month and a half
later in the arcade parking lot. It took so long for him to kiss her, Grace had almost given up. It’s still their favorite date spot.
And yet… they still weren’t “dating.”
Trenton left for a summer internship in New York City. Not as Grace’s boyfriend, but as her crush. They texted every day. Called every night.
Grace made an excuse to visit. She surprised him with a helicopter ride above the city—she had to do something unforgettable.

She left, and he couldn’t stop thinking about her. So while Grace was at Bear Lake with her family, Trenton surprised her and just… showed up. The most romantic thing anyone had ever done for her.
He left that weekend not as her crush, but as her boyfriend.

Trenton came home from New York and the months that followed were magic. Disneyland. London. Denver Broncos games. Every single day, more and more in love.
When it was time to propose, there was only one choice: a surprise trip to New York and a helicopter ride above the city.

It was never a question. The answer was always yes.
We’re getting married May 2nd and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate with you!
